In modern-day America, two girls from different backgrounds learn the lesson to temper their pride and form a friendship. Little do they know that one of them is to be deported. BEST FRIENDS NOTICE OF DEPORTATION is an uplifting, short teenage drama that the whole family can watch and discuss complex topics that trouble North America.
Lisa SCHNEIDER is the youngest actor starring in this production. In the movie, Lisa portrays MAY, the younger sister of AVA, the story's protagonist. The BEST FRIENDS NOTICE OF DEPORTATION is her debut. She is a competitive dancer and speaks Japanese. A fun fact is that Lisa handled most of the slates in the production, serving as the official second AD. Lisa completed her acting training at the VANCOUVER YOUNG ACTORS SCHOOL.
Emma SCHNEIDER portrays AVA, one of the main protagonists of the story. The BEST FRIENDS NOTICE OF DEPORTATION is her screenwriting debut. Emma is a passionate actor, singer and dancer. Her passion is musical theatre, and she has had multiple successful roles in local productions. Emma is represented by the INTEGRAL ARTISTS. Emma completed her acting training at the VANCOUVER YOUNG ACTORS SCHOOL.
Elena OLSEN portrays CLAIRE in the movie, AVA and MAY's mother as well as a lawyer. Elena works with young and aspiring actors every day at the STORY INSTITUTE in Vancouver.
Nisa BAKSHPOUR is the second youngest actor in the cast. She plays the main antagonist in the story, the mean yet funny DAISY. Nisa's natural charm and sense of comedic timing brighten up some of the dimmer moments in the story. Apart from acting, Nisa is also a musician, learning to play drums. BEST FRIENDS NOTICE OF DEPORTATION is Nisa's acting debut. Nisa completed her acting training at the VANCOUVER YOUNG ACTORS SCHOOL.
Evangeline TAPIA plays VIOLET, the second protagonist in the BEST FRIENDS NOTICE OF DEPORTATION. Apart from acting, Evangeline is a wrestler and rugby player, which makes her a perfect choice for a strong female lead. Evangeline completed her acting training at the TRICITIES FILM STUDIO.
Ella WOIKEN took the role of SOPHIE, the main supporting character in the story. She plays the kind and wise friend of the main protagonist, the voice of reason for the other characters in the BEST FRIENDS NOTICE OF DEPORTATION movie. Ella does CrossFit and completed her acting training at the VANCOUVER YOUNG ACTORS SCHOOL. BEST FRIENDS NOTICE OF DEPORTATION is Ella's acting debut.
Berenika WIDERA plays the role of MS. WINSLET, the art teacher who drives the turning point in the story. She is a writer and member of the NZWG, has published two books with scenes for young actors, and is an award-winning classical pianist. Berenika completed her acting training at the TRICITIES FILM STUDIO, VANCOUVER YOUNG ACTORS SCHOOL, STORY INSTITUTE, BGB ACTING STUDIO, and SHORELINE STUDIOS. She is represented by the RED RAVEN TALENT.
Maria HERRERA portrays the role of KATE, the mother of VIOLET, the second protagonist in the story. Maria is an accomplished working actor, a singer and a dedicated acting teacher who, at different times, taught all of the other young actors at the VANCOUVER YOUNG ACTORS SCHOOL. Maria is represented by LUCAS TALENT.
BEST FRIENDS NOTICE OF DEPORTATION is an original short motion picture written and directed by talented young actors from acting schools in British Columbia. Produced independently and not-for-profit in Canada as part of the BCShorts Initiative by parents and actors on a volunteer basis.
